    I was given a big pouch of date paste from a middle eastern shop (I think the one I was given was Saudi Arabian in origin). I wonder if that would work? I use it in my breakfast cereal and I think there's no added ingredient - it's just dates, pasted! Thank for the recipe.

    When I first started eating mochi about 30 years ago it was baked. It was from Eden soy brand and came in a block that you had to cut and bake. It would puff up slightly and I would fill it with peanut butter and brown rice syrup.

    When mixing in the store-bought natto, should the beans be cooled down or still hot or warm? I heard heat destroys the active ingredient in natto? Should I add in thawed frozen natto? Or must it be frozen still?

    Its unfortunate you didnt use hickory. The flavors are completely different and you need the hickory nut shells crushed in and rhe shells leech a very uniquely hickory flavor that no other nuts have.

    I grew it in my garden last year, harvested, dried and bagged, left in pantry until today. I made tea and it was delicious with and without honey. I plan to grow more!

    Ideally tapioca pearls need to be soaked in water for half an hour before boiling. Also the host forgot to add one of the most important ingredients - the pandan leaves in boiling water with tapioca pearls. Pandan leaves give this dish its characteristic flavour

      yes, and frankly you should be using sea salt (himilayan, or redmonds real salt) for everything stay away from the processed white salt
